This one day workshop will cover the basic
technical and artistic aspects of taking Children Photographs. Learn how to use props when
photographing children, discover tricks in lighting for outside, window
light, and
studio settings. You can choose to take black and white or color film or both.
You may bring your own models (but, models will be provided). It is
recommended that you have someone pickup your models at sometime throughout
the day, so they do not get tired.
The timeline for this course will be:
Sunday:
10:00 Meet
at the school and do a discussion about your cameras and general knowledge
of photography. We will discuss your cameras meter, using light meters,
how to place your models, and how to compose your images.
11:00-1:00
We will then go on
location and
take photographs with your 35mm SLR Camera. This will include outdoor subjects and
outdoor portrait lighting techniques using reflectors and diffusers. This will also cover
how to compose your subjects ( props will be included), what backgrounds to avoid, and how to select the best
light for your subject. You will also use the gray card or incident light
meters for perfectly exposed images.
1:00-2:00 Lunch Break. Have your film
processed and scanned at a one hour
processing lab with the instructor if needed ( Pick up
film and CD from one hour processing lab and bring them back to the school)
2:00-3:00 Discuss
using windowlight in your photos and how to set up the best shots for
this type of lighting. Then do portraits of children using this lighting.

different types of lighting systems and how to set them up and use them with

images. Then, photograph children in the different setups using different
